ABOUT
Xaver Neumann is a Berlin-based DP working primarily in commercials. His first long-form narrative series, Fleischwolf for ARD-Mediathek, was nominated for the renowned Grimme Prize in 2026.
As a visual lead he believes in a holistic approach which is based on the idea of enablement: Not only enabling directors to bring out their very best by being the creative mate you can trust, you can discuss ideas with, you can always rely on. But also enabling everybody else on set to shine – knowing good work grows out of mutual trust and good communication.
Xaver believes that fast-paced working environments like film sets can reliably get turned into success stories by meticulous pre-production, a trusted crew and a pragmatic approach to the unexpected realities of production.
In short: Beautiful imagery is always the result of the thoughtful management of time, resources and, in the end, by cooperating with good human beings.
ABOUT
Xaver Neumann is a Berlin based DP working mainly in commercials and music videos. After graduating in European Media Science he worked a few years shooting for corporate clients while at the same time creating creative concepts for music videos. Not only shooting but writing concepts, producing, directing and editing numerous projects on both ends of the industry led to a deep understanding of what creatives push for and clients want.
Being home in both worlds – the corporate world as well as the creative – laid the foundation to being a cinematographer who is able to adapt to the nature of a given project: some projects need a strong creative voice, some need a DP who is able to work as effective as possible to fulfill the needs of a brand.
Xaver Neumann sees beauty in helping to achieve a projects goal – and how solution-oriented workflows and a responsible handling of resources can help to nail productions and ultimately lead to outstanding, beautiful imagery.
